30 years ago, a realisation between cousin's Martin Shaw and Michael Hill-Smith MW was born and it started with a varietal that is more at home across the Tasman Sea than in the hills of Adelaide but so it was, in 1989, that the first Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc was released and the winery has not looked back.
Today, the wines produced by Shaw + Smith include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. In recent years, this has also grown to include 3 new premium single site wines concentrating on and highlighting the varietals grown in the Adelaide Hills.
It is a longheld tradition that the annual release of the new vintage of wines from Shaw + Smith are celebrated with the coming together of friends and family of the winery to a Chinese restaurant in Adelaide where everyone enjoys the new vintage releases paired alongside a typical Yum Cha or Dim Sum lunch.
We felt that celebrating 30 years of wine was as good enough excuse as any and so, here in Bangkok, we will be celebrating the release of the 30th vintage of Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc the Shaw + Smith way.
Join us at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park at their gorgeous Chinese restaurant Pagoda for a classic Yum Cha / Dim Sum alongside the 2019 Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc and other new vintage releases from Shaw + Smith.
