TRIACCA

In the early 18th century, Greve, was officially designated as a wine production area of the Chianti Classico region.

In the latter half of the 20th Century, the quaint “La Madonnina” estate was acquired by the Triacca family after having been left abandoned for many years.

On an elevation of 350 metres above sea level, the estate was used for hunting by the previous owners, in order for the family to rejuvenate the property and return it to its original state an extensive renovation and restoration  was required to be undertaken by the Triacca family.

A project which took approximately 10 years to complete, resulting in the first harvest in 1975.

Today, roughly a third of the estate is planted to vine comprising of the traditional Chianti Classico grape, Sangiovese, along with small parcels of international varietals Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with the remainder of the estate being planted to olive groves and native woodlands and fields.
